The context – This company is spread out across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with a matrix organisation. Many managers are responsible for a team distributed throughout several countries. The company decides that all 2500 managers are to be trained for preventing discrimination and harassment.
The issue – Internal processes for recruitment, assessment, promotion… are common to all the subsidiaries, to the extent of compliance with local legislation: differences are noticed for teleworking; geographical and functional mobility; redundancy process…
The solution – A 2-day programme is put together based on HR and managers’ experience and takes into account the company’s processes and best practices. In order to take into account the differences in local legislation, a slot is reserved for a discussion with local HR and the training team is composed of facilitators from different countries, who share the information they gather during the sessions. Exchanges between participants are also promoted. Moreover, as legislation is bound to evolve, the programme is aimed at assisting the managers’ comprehension of the key points for which they need to check the local processes before making a decision or communicating anything to their employees.
